Fall is here and time is just flying by in 2011.

Keith is currently in his last semester at Luther Rice Seminary. He will soon have his Bachelor's in Ministy! Yea keithy! I am so proud of him and all his hard work!

I have just been working like crazy and enjoying life.

Above is a picture of our Halloween decorations. Things have been so crazy around here that it took us a while to get everything put up! Our neighbors said they were wondering what was going on.

Since we never posted anything about our CitiKitty adventure you probably know by now that it was not a success. I had to sit with Aslan in the bathroom every night and he was so stubborn he wouldn’t go for like 45 mins. and after 4 weeks of really trying… I told Keith no more!

Right after we put the old litter box up Aslan AND Sadie went pee and poo within 30 minutes! hahah Maybe Citi Kitty would work for others, but we found that since we were gone all day 6 days a week, it was really hard to help train the cats. Keith said he would try it again.. but me… not so much!

I will try to update more over the holidays since we’ve been so bad this year at updates. There just hasn’t been anything new and exciting going on to report.

Six Flags

A Few Weeks ago Kaylee and I went on a "Day Date" to Six Flags. We took some time out to do one of the many things we love doing together...Riding Roller Coasters. The kids in our area had either gone back to school already or were about to, so we knew it wouldn't be too busy. Here is a Video of our Adventure on the Coasters thanks to our Flip Camera.

Citi Kitty

As many of you know we have two Cats. Sadie (named after the Sadie Hawkins dance where girls ask the guys) which we have had for about 3 years and Aslan (named after the lion in the Chronicles of Narnia Book series) that we have had for about a year.

With two Cats it feels like they are either eating or using the bathroom constantly. Kaylee and I are two people that love to try new things...

One night we were watching shark tank on ABC, where a person comes into a room of investors and sells there product to support them for a percentage of the company. On the episode we watched they had the Citi Kitty "A potty training system for your cats". We have seen something like it a few years ago but the price tag was more than we wanted to spend.. around $80.00 ($80). When we saw Citi Kitty and heard it was only $29.99 we thought we would try it.

If you have never heard of this before just check out the website www.citikitty.com

But short version is having a step by step way of training your cat to actually use the human toilet.

I know that this may sound a little weird to you (It did for me), but as I researched it, i found that it is actually a more hygienic way of having a indoor cat than a box full of waste from the cats.

We are currently in the beginning stages of the training. We have moved the box closer to the toilet, moved it up a level to get them used to being higher up, and then moving up another level even with the bowl. We are now on the step of having the box on the seat.

As we progress through these steps we will be of course documenting it for you on our blog. Check back with us to stay up dated on the adventure we have embarked on. As you may be guessing the bathroom or toilet is "out of Service" momentarily due to the training but don't worry we have another that our guests may use during this process.

It's actually a little warm here...

It has been brought to my attention that we have not updated our blog in quite some time. With further investigation I find the last post was when we got snowed in for a few days when the roads froze over. Recently people had been asking how the weather was in Porterdale, I thought nothing of it until I saw the last post. Just to think, if people looked at our blog daily or even monthly they would think it was still cold here...sorry but it's not. It's actually a little warm (hot) here. Life has been busy with me in full time classes (graduating this fall), church (youth and worship leading), weddings (didn't know we had so many friends that were at the stage of marriage, all at once), and all the other awesome things you do when your married. We will try and focus on posting more often. But if we do not for a few weeks please do not go by the weather that we are talking about at the time. God has really blessed us to have people that care about our lives and want to hear "what's new with the Davis'?". There is always something new. God is constantly moving in our lives and are in the process of big plans not just me or Kaylee alone but for us together. More info. To come. We will keep you up to date writing and through pictures along the way. So hold on to your seats, where were going we don't need roads...

Ugly Sweater Party

Things have been crazy and I apologize for my lack of posting. I realized that i hadn’t uploaded pictures to my computer since October. My computer is going crazy. it works one day and doesn’t the next. Who knows when it will work and won’t work.

For now it is working, so here come the pictures. This year Keith and I decided to have some friends over for an Ugly Sweater party! It was really just a fun time to chill with everyone. Here are the couples below:

Keith and I feel like we have been running around every day of the week. I have at least a bagillion photos to post.

A few weeks ago we had our cousins Kyle and Meagan in town. We went an hung with them in May and they were able to come down and spend an extended weekend with us.

We love them and end up always just talking into the night.

We hit up athens on Friday to show them the campus and enjoy the fall air. We hung out on Saturday, went antiquing and enjoyed the Porterdale Yellow River Jam. We rocked out to an awesome bluegrass band called “ The Apostles of Blue Grass”. Then Sunday we went to church and then had a fun-filled night of game playing at the Sears’ house. Our weekend went way too quick and it was so sad to see them go.

My cousins came into town last weekend to stay with keith and i.We had such a good time and lots more pictures and stories will come from that. My cousin, Meagan is a Blogger. She helps all of us coupon to the fullest, as well as, open up about her life. She wrote an awesome post about a salad i made for them when they come over. I have to give props to Kosova and the best restaurant there California, as that is where i took this recipe. They do it a lot better than I can, but it is a little reminder of my favorite land when i am here in Georgia.

Last minute on the day before UGA’s home opener my dad got some tickets from Pepsi. Keith, myself, Carson and his girlfriend Aubrey went together. Sadly when we got the CVS to pick up our tickets there were 6 tickets not 4 as we thought. Madison was not happy at all when she found this out. We ended up selling them for pretty cheap and had our parking paid for!

I miss going to all the games. One great perk of being a student!

Today was day 5. I had a hard day looking and focusing on things that are true and pure, right and holy, friendly and proper. It is crazy how little situations get you down everyday and cause such bitterness in your life. I have a lot more to learn on this subject.

We blog about our cats!

Little Aslan is doing great! He is crazy and always running around like a mad kitty. He is fisty and like the pounce on our feet at night. He loves to play fight with Sadie and cuddle up on your chest. Since he was a lot youger when we adopted him from the Animal Shelter it has been crazy to see him grow so quickly. He is a little ball of fun. We love him, even though we want to kill him sometimes!

Sadie is doing great too. When Aslan 1st arrived, we were really worried this second cat thing was not going to work out. Sadie was an “ only child” and she had only child syndrome. she would just hiss and growl at little Aslan, but he just wanted to bite her tail! Now they are BFF’s and Keith sends me pictures all the time of them cuddling with each other. They still love to fight, but they end up licking each other on the head after biting. haha!

Guys… It has been too long!

Keith and I have been going going going over the past 3 weeks. We spent 2 weeks straight every night at church preparing for VBS and actually having the VBS.

I was thinking if we had 25-30 kids that would be a great turn out for our small church. Our first night we had 39 kids which blew my mind. The next night we had 59 kids then we had 70 kids by the end of the week. The lord is good and showed how awesome He is to everyone there. It was so awesome to see how God pulled it all together. There is no way this could have happened without him. Total the church spent $33.00 on VBS. Everything else was donated or creative skills were used to make everything super cheap and awesome! The kids raised $1300.00 for our missionary.

PureFUN! Donated the juice and food for snacks. A lady at our church, Maria, wrote the skits for each night… which were AWESOME! I used some songs from my past for all the music. i created the trading cards and v-buck money and Jerry let me print it out super cheap at work. I can’t believe $33.00 total was spent. It just shows what can happen when you listen to God’s calling in a situation and allow him to work in every area.

Besides that we’ve had some fun times with friends, saw inception with Leo DiCaprio, and a few other movies in home. Had a few girls from the youth group over. worked… slept… ate… you know the normal. I hope to update a lot more over the next week. Since we kind of have a little more time on our hands :-)

This weekend we have Mark Rice’s wedding and i can’t wait! :-)

Hero UP

This year our church is having our first ever VBS. It is called “Hero Up-unleashing God’s power in your life.” We have a fun Super Hero theme, so that rocks! We are doing everything ourselves, so it has been lots of ideas flowing around and lots of work but it will be awesome to see how God uses the time.

We are making “trading cards” for the characters in the shows. Keith is playing the “smart” kid. Here is the trading card i made for Keith’s character:

We had a great 4th. We had a wonderful service at church to start out the day and then Keith’s mom and Dennis came over for all the festivities Porterdale had to offer! We walked around the booths and had some yummy Pulled pork sandwiches. We just relaxed and enjoyed the beautiful weather. We rocked our USA Sunglasses and watched a great fireworks show. Porterdale is great! hehe!

For one of my classes at school I was asked to write my Personal Testimony. So in Honor of Father’s Day I wanted to share it with all of you. Enjoy:

I believe that one of the most important things in someone’s life is their personal testimony. Some people may say “well, I don’t think my testimony is very good and nobody can learn anything from it”, but I disagree completely. Everyone has a testimony, whether it be going through a hard life when we were younger or having a good life until something bad happened. The key part of the entire thing is how you came from those hard times and put God in your cockpit and how that changed your life for the better. A lot of us may think that nothing bad has happened to them, so it is hard to say things changed for the better. In my case though, God used something bad in my life to strengthen and mold me into who I am today.

My story starts when I was younger. I was born and raised in a Christian family with Christian values that all of us strive for and need on a daily basis. There were hard times growing up like with any other family, but the major difference was that we got through them because we kept God in the forefront and he got us through it.

I grew up in the church and that meant you could find me helping out with the puppet ministry, helping with VBS, playing in any of the sports the church had to offer, and pretty much anything else that a kid could do at the church. I loved God and He loved me, so I was on fire for him at a young age. Looking back on those days today it was in Gods plan for me to continue working with children, then fulfilling my calling with leading the youth as Youth Pastor. Seeing those days now just shows how he was shaping me to be the person I am today and the person I will continue to become. Some may think that this is where my story ends. I am working full time in the church with the youth, married and still on fire for God. But there is much more to my story than just a young child on fire for God. I was faced with one life event that had the potential to bring me in a complete one-eighty and turn me away for God for good.

When we are faced with our worst fears, it is God’s strength that gets us through those long days, not our own. Fear is the root of evil; evil can take and mold it into something that may not have ever been before. I try to tell this truth in some way to my youth every time I see them. I feel the calling God has on me to lead youth is for a many reasons, but one of the prime reasons is to relate to them in these teenage years where everything can change in a split second. I am a good candidate for this because that is exactly what happened to me. On February 26^th, 2001, I was 14 years old, it was a normal weekday for my freshman year of High school. I had a test in biology that I had studied all week for, my musical theatre class was practicing for the upcoming show, and my lunch was packed to the top with all good eats, it was a good day. Classes started at 7:30 a.m. and like any normal day my sister and I were running late. We kissed our parents as we left with our dad saying “You guys are going to be late, Again” in that loving, but stern tone. Normally my dad would have already been gone for work, but he didn’t have to get there as early to spend the morning with my mom, something you can do when you are one of the owners of the company. We arrived at school with minutes until the bell rang, as we were walking the stairs from the parking lot up to the building I began to think about things, my family, parents, and the biology test that I had first period. The one thing I focused on the most was my parents and how much they love us and shown us how we should be. I shrugged it off just as a thought I always had before I had to go to that long day of school.

Fast forward to third period I had gym glass. The speaker came on for me to come to the principals’ office. I was confused what it may have been about, of course all my classmates’ oooed and said that I was in trouble. After I changed back into my clothes and walked to the front office I wondered what it was all about. As I got closer I saw my sister sitting there waiting to go in. What did we do? Were we getting into trouble for being late and they were taking away her parking pass. That would be the end of the world and we would have to ride the bus we both said. We asked the secretary why we were there and she said she could not say. We waited and waited. Finally we see my aunt, uncle, a family friend and our mom coming up. We were puzzled. Our lives in the next few minuets would be forever changed. My uncle was the first to speak. He started to tell us that something had happened. Everything raced through my mind, what could it be? He then said that my dad had been in a fatal crash and that he had gone on to see God. To write those words today takes me back to that day and how nothing like that could have ever been foreseen in my fourteen year old mind.

As the days, weeks, months passed it became clearer that he was not coming home. I could say that this pushed me further to become the person I am today. That is not the case. In the months that passed I walked away from the friends I had had before the accident, walking away from helping the ministries at the church thinking by doing that I could change things and let my dad come back. As this happened I slipped further and further into the crowds, people and things my parents had told me about. I turned into a person that was more about himself and keeping himself “safe”. As I did this I began doing things i shouldn’t be doing and just not thinking about the choices I was making. I wondered why God had done this to me at this time in my life, when I was growing into the man I was made to be. God was still in my mind and beside me, but listening to him was the furthest thing from my mind. This went on through my sophomore and junior year of high school. On the inside I was struggling with all of these things and doing all of these things on the weekend, but during the week I was a normal kid getting good grades, doing sports and just appearing to be a funny happy student. I even was picked to be a foreign exchange student for a few semesters in Australia and New Zealand. My life was going as planned on the outside but on the inside it was total turmoil.

As junior year passed and summer was starting up I had this feeling that I was trying to be two different people and leading two totally different lives. I came home one day and just sat down on my bed and started crying asking God what I should do. I asked him for his strength and prayed to forgive everything I had done since the loss of my dad. I asked him to show me what I needed to do to become the child of God he made me to be. I asked why this had happened to me. As this happened I was filled with peace about everything. I knew what I had to do. I was to get rid of those friends that I had been getting into so much trouble with, I had to stop trying to be someone I was not, and I was told that it was my father’s time to go to be with God. That summer before senior year was hard. I had the temptation of those friends, the situations and everything that comes with evil trying to take your joy away. That senior year was a new start. I rekindled the friends I had let go so long ago. I got back into helping at the church. My family life was about the time I had with them and not taking it for granted.

My life was smooth, easy living. Then the roller coaster went down the track and life took over. I could have been sour and let that totally take over the choices for the rest of my life. Although I didn’t listen to God at the lowest part of my life, He still allowed me to go to him, broken, and put my life back together. That day on my bed, that is what I did. I went to him when I was at the lowest of the low and He has helped me to fulfill my calling and become the real person I was meant to be.

I do not think you have to have such a disastrous thing happen to see this in your life, but it does show God’s love is there for us even when we are not there for Him. I try and stress this every time I talk with my youth. Whether they are going through things at school, home, or just daily life we must keep God in the forefront and keep Him with us. This will help all of us out whether we have something big going on or something so small we think we can do it ourselves, keeping him with us in our hearts makes things run so much smoother.

Projects of a Married Couple.

Keith and I are always doing weekend projects. The past few weeks Keith has been out of school, so he was on his Honey-Do-List. We had a few things that we wanted to get done around the house and at church. Our two main projects were 1. Tagging the Gravity Youth room at church and 2. creating “wall art” for the kitchen.

Keith and I spent all day last Saturday stenciling, outlining and spoungeing the walls to give the Gravity room a new look.

At the house we’ve been trying to find something to put on our HUGE wall in the kitchen. Keith and I have juggled around but nothing seemed to fit or work for us. (Keith says that i said NO to all the ideas….)

We went to Art on the River a few weeks ago and got our Inspiration for our wall. Once Keith has an idea, he goes for it gung-ho. He was at Home depot the next day trying to get it figured out.

Wife & the Wildlife

On daily basis, Kaylee and I always look out the window to enjoy the river. We see if it is up or down for the day. Lately we have been noticing that spring is in the air. Animals moving, people swimming ( some sun bathing) and flowers blooming. recently, we had noticed two loving geese that would be by daily. They were always swimming, walking, drinking, and squawking together!

A few weeks ago we began to notice that they were not showing up anymore and we were getting sad, since Kaylee and I always call them “ our friends”. A few days later one started coming around alone and we wondered what had happened to our other “Friend”. A few days ago Kaylee had the window open and heard some squawking and went to the window. To her joy she noticed both geese were back and this time with a little baby goose! So i guess now we have a loving happy goose family at the lofts!

As well as these animals we also see a lot of “wildlife” on the river.

One sunday afternoon after church, one of my students from the youth group called and told us to look out the window. It was like a seen from Rescue 911, & Willaim Shatner, was the host.

“A man in his late 20’s was trapped in the middle of the river on a huge bolder. his boat was unfortunatly at the shore. The crowds began to form on the bridge and every type of emergency vehicle sat upon the shore. How would he survive with the rushing water beating his face and body? How would the rescue workers get to him in time. Would he survive? BUM BUM BUM”

With our binoculars and extra zoomed camera in hand we watched as the scene unfolded.

The time that it took to rescue him was about 45 min to an hour. This was way better than cable. They threw the buoy out to him he grabbed on with all his might and they pulled him to shore. Safe & Sound.

This is just a normal day in the life of the Davis’.

Carson and Madison have been doing Shot-put and Discus this year in track and field

Carson picked it up last year since he had to stay after school for maddie’s track and he just thought he’d try it out.

Last week Madison did her personal best in Discus 91.5 feet placing her 8th of 18 in the region competition. This is her FIRST YEAR!!!! As a Sophomore she will letter on varsity! Gooo maddie!

Carson just beast’ed it up at his regional meet yesterday. Not only did he have personal best records in both events at his meet, he made two new school records and placed first in both his events. Moving him along to the state competition. He had an article about him in the Gwinnett Daily Post… go check it out!

Easter Time

This was Keith and I’s first married Easter. I think we have now hit every holiday as a married couple! We decided… kind of last min. That we wanted to dye eggs. We got a weird tie-dye kit for the eggs and got to work.

After our service at Journey Church, we hurried to Suwanee for Easter Lunch. Keith and I got our first easter picture taken as the Davis family.

Aunt DD7 was jealous and had to get in with us. She always does an awesome job getting everything set up and ready for our lunch. We love her!

Keith and I love plants. It makes our place feel so bright an happy. We had just a few, but then our friends Weyman and Betty Jean let us have some of theirs. Keith has nurtured them to beautiful and thriving plants( with a little help from many aqua globes) and we have some beautiful looking plants. One day i am sure… like my grandma… i will send pictures of our plants to our children and grandchildren says “My Sweetie and the Poor Pompous” Just like the one my grandma sent us a few years ago! Our Herbs

After making some Bischetta a few months back and having to buy Fresh Basil at Kroger for 3.99, Keith and I decided that we should make a Herb garden this spring.

A few weeks ago Keith and I made a trip to Lowes to pick up some seed packets and see to starting our “garden”.

After much debate we decided to go for Basil, Cilantro, and Parsley. (We found some awesome pots and that is one of the reasons we did Basil and Parsley!)

We potted them a few weeks ago and have been waiting for little green sprouts to come through the soil. The basil was the 1st to break through and not long after that came the cilantro and then finally the parsley. Our little herbs are loving the sun and really starting to “bloom”.

Having Family Over

Keith and I love having people over. A few weeks ago we finally got His brother Kevin and his family over. It has been since Keith moved in that they were all last over here. We were worried we would have to Toddler proof our house with our Nephew Wilson coming over, but he did awesome.

Wilson quickly feel in love with sadie and spent most his day running and calling after her. The rest of the day consisted of playing the Wii, taking a tour of the lofts, going for a quick walk by the river, making homemade mini pizzas, talking and laughing… and playing Find It.

Kosovar Celebration

Just like last year, all us gals that have spent our summers in Kosova met together to celebrate the 2nd independence of Kosova!

Of course there was american made albanian food along with great music and great fellowship.

Keith and I got the house all decorated and ready.

We made some stuffed peppers again and laura made an AWESOME Chicken salad!

In addition to all the yummy things above, we also had turkish coffee, russian coffee, pretzels, eruo creme, peach, cherry, strawberry and blueberry juice, and kikiriki!

Of course we had to pose for the great event!

Our 1/2 weekend getaway

Since Keith and I both “work” for the church we aren’t able to get a full weekend off many times during the year. My grandmother has a cute cabin up in cleveland, GA and for a few months now Keith and I have been saying we needed to take a one night trip up to the cabin. We finally worked it out to go last weekend… which just happened to be valentines weekend.

We were excited about the night stay and our plans for Saturday. We wanted to eat at this old country family style restaurant and go to the new Babyland General.

As the week inched closer to Friday, so did the forecast of snow. Lots of snow. Keith and I still wanted to go for the night, so we left out and when we arrived we had about two inches of snow there.

We got in and turned on the heat. I cooked our Lemon chicken we loved so much a few weeks ago. It did not turn out as good, so that made me a bit upset. We watched about 4 movies haha. My grandmother had all these awesome old VHS’s we watched Richie Rich… AWESOME! HEHE

Saturday we woke up and enjoyed some time in the snow.

Then we had a breakfast of Champions… Toaster Studdles!

As the day went on we got ready for our planned day. We drove into town to go to Babyland General… to find…. it was closed… AHHH.. BUT WE TOOK A PICTURE ANYWAY!

Then we drove on to find that our food place was closed also. Man what bad luck. Keith and I drove into Helen and walked around in the frigid cold. It was so windy. We ended up driving back going to Cracker Barrel and went to see a movie. It was a good weekend to just take some time to chill out and not have to stress about “life” stuff. It was great.

Super Bowl Party

Keith and I recently got a new tv, so we decided that we just HAD to have a super bowl get together!

I of course was rooting for the Saints while everyone else wanted the colts to win. To that i say to everyone …. BOOOOOOOOYALLL!

We finally got to use all the fun platters we got for the wedding!

Yummy Dinner

Keith and I had a super yummy dinner last night. It only has 5 ingredients and is super easy to make.

Here is the recipe below:

Broiled Lemon-Garlic Chicken

Ingredients

2 lemons
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature
2 to 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
2 half chickens (3 to 3 1/4 pounds total)

Directions

Position an oven rack about 8 to 10 inches from the broiler and preheat. Grate the lemon zest and combine in a small bowl with the butter, garlic, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper to taste. Mash with a fork to make a smooth paste.

With your fingers, gently loosen the skin on the chicken breasts, legs and thighs. Spread the flavored butter under the skin as evenly as possible. Halve the lemons and squeeze 2 halves over the chicken; season with salt and pepper.

Place the chicken skin-side up on a broiler pan (or a rack on a baking sheet). Position the halves about 2 inches apart with the thick parts of the legs facing the center. Arrange the remaining 2 lemon halves cut-side down next to the chicken.

Broil the chicken until the skin is light brown and crisp, about 8 minutes. If the chicken browns too quickly, lower the oven rack. Flip the chicken and the lemons and continue to broil until almost cooked through (a thermometer inserted into the thickest part will register 160 degrees), about 15 minutes. Remove the lemons, if browned; turn the chicken again and broil until the skin is brown and crisp and the thermometer registers 165 degrees, about 2 more minutes. Serve the chicken with the broiled lemons for squeezing on top.

Per serving: Calories 453; Fat 29 g (Saturated 10 g); Cholesterol 149 mg; Sodium 491 mg; Carbohydrate 3 g; Fiber 1 g; Protein 42 g

I am sorry for the lack of postings lately. I feel like we have been running at 1000 mpgs, so it has been hard to take a moment to give an update. Things going on this month are:

I (Kaylee) Started Full-time at PureFUN! (www.purefuninc.com). I will be working to get new customers and also on marketing plans.

Keith starts his new classes at Luther Rice Seminary next week. He is taking 3 classes this semester. Uping his load just a bit. But i know he will still do great with it. He got all A’s last semester so YEA KEITH!

We are both still loving our ministry’s with Journey Church (www.lifejourneytogether.org). Keith is loving the Youth and has some great plans for this upcoming semester. It is awesome to see how God is using him and giving him the knowledge he needs. He is doing great and i am so proud of him. The band is going well with me too!

HOW COULD I FORGET…. Keith and I won the Christmas door decorating contest in the Lofts. We won a $25.00 Giftcard to Long Horns. So we were so excited about that. They featured pictures of our door in the monthly loft newsletter!

Our 1st Christmas Tree

Keith and I had a delima.

He has always grown up with a Fake christmas tree and I have always had a real one. The only time we ALMOST had a fake one .. my dad was sent back to the store to return this “fake” tree and had to go get us a real tree the next day!

So, when it came to talk of Christmas and what kind of tree we were going to get i was worried. I love the smell and look of real trees. Keith like the ease and simplicity of fake trees. So you can see the dilemma we were having. But Keith being so sweet and loving me lots decided on doing a real tree this year!

Since we are living in Porterdale we are right next to a tree farm. Berry’s Tree Farm ( which is acutally owned some one of Keith’s relatives… you know one of those relatives that you are related SOMEWHERE down the line, but not really sure where.

So last night around 5 we headed down the road to gooood ol Berry’s.

We arrived and it was starting to get dark so we quickly had to find the perfect tree for us.

Berry’s is great because you get to cut the tree down yourself.

we debated on which tree would be right for us!

Keith said “ This is too small”

Then …. after a little bit longer of looking… we found it!

We got straight to chopping… sawing it down!

Once we got home we tried to set the tree up… but we were having issues with our metal tree stand. After 2 hours of trying to get it up we finally decided to go to walmart to get a bigger plastic one… within 2 min of putting the new one of we had the tree up.

Graduation

I just noticed that i never posted about my graduation back in May. The wedding took over most our blog posts, so i thought since we have been slacking in our postings lately i would update from that day.

I am actually the 1st on my Grandmothers side to graduate from College. Which is actually really cool.

It was actually a really nice day in the Sanford Stadium. There was cloud cover all morning so we didn’t burn up the whole time. It did get long towards the end and i kept getting text from my sibings asking “WHEN WILL THIS BE OVER”

My dad was extra excited because he graduated from UGA as well as his two sisters. We have a family of bulldog alums on the Sears side of the family. I love my parents sporting their red and black!

After 2 years of CVS, God has provided Keith a job with LifeWay Christian bookstores. He begins on Monday and we are SOOOO excited. The over nights have been really hard and Keith has been trying to be patient and wait on God’s direction and guidance.

Journey Baptisms

This past Sunday we had a Fall Festival at our church. The niht included great home cooking, fun games ( including BINGO and a cake walk) and face painting and balloon animals ( by yours truly). Keith also dj’d the event.

The main even of the night however was the baptisms. 12 people decided to be baptized. 8 were this past Sunday and 4 will be tomorrow at church. Keith had the opportunity to Baptize 6 of the students in his youth group. 4 of them had given their life to Christ in the past and were ready to show the church friends and family their commitment to Christ. 2 of them gave their lives to Christ this summer at camp.

Chad made us a baptismal since the floods of 09’ moved our party inside of Journey instead of outside at the lake. Chad is so crafty!

It was such a blessing to get to watch Keith baptize his youth. He had great words of encouragement for each of them. Pray for these students as they continue to strengthen their walk with the Lord over the up coming year, and through the rest of their lives.

Praise to God for such an awesome event.

The story of Best Friends

Since i first introduced Keith to my family in Florida, there has been a special connection between Keith and Kyle ( My cousins husband) We first met kyle many a years ago when Meagan and Kyle first started dating. We even made him quit his job for us hahahaha. The bond was first made there in Jacksonville and it has continued through the years.

After many months and days of being apart and a short meeting at our wedding we knew it was time to reunite these friends. Kyle had been searching for keith for some time:

So the adventure continues as Kyle, Meagan, Lauren Alex and Daniel made a pitstop by our place on their way home from a wedding in north Georgia.

Well the best friends were re-united yesterday:

Anyone who does the Thumbs-Up like Keith is well.. just as crazy as Keith.That is why Kyle and Keith were meant to be best friends.

We also had many other adventures. Daniel stated when he first arrived “ I feel like a caged lion” as he saw the river through our windows. He felt the need to be leaping across rocks.

We hurried through lunch to make it down to the river.

Keith and I have our house open now for visitors!

We had Keith’s mom and Dennis over to our place about a month ago. We got to adventure out on the river of course. Dennis forgot his fishing rod and was quite sad about that!

We love taking people out to the river… our backyard! While Dennis and Lanetta were here we had some good food ( which dennis almost choked on), explored the lofts and sat around and chatted together. It was great to have them over. Show off our place a little!

THE SEARS

Next came the Sears’ clan. Along with them came some additions including: Jared, Kensie’s boyfriend and Tuna, Madison’s boyfriend. So we had a packed house.

We played games as we waited on Kenz and Jaroids to arrive.

My mom bought Keith a pack of “gnarly Noses” and i wanted to show them off. They were a hit and everyone wanted to wear one. My dad kept asking “ i dont understand this game”…. it wasn’t a game hahahah.

I slaved over the stove ALL DAY LONG.. ok not really. But we did make english muffin pizza’s and enjoyed them out on the deck.

We are so happy because we know that this is the direction God is calling Keith in. He will be working towards his Bachelors degree in arts in Religion and Ministry. With goals of continuing on to work with Youth.

I am so proud of Keith and LOVE seeing God working in and through his life.

Pray for Keith as he begins school in just a few weeks. Pray that God will provide for a job that will work better with his school schedule and that Keith will learn and grow in his relationship with God through this intense study.

CVS Pharmacy Athens, GA

Every few months my dad opens a new CVS in his district so he always calls upon Keith to DJ the event and for me ,to well… do anything else needed. I have worked at the Athens CVS for two years , but sadly my last day of work was last monday. Stephanie, my awesome manager got to move from our old (very small) store to a new (super huge) store. I was excited to help out in any way since it was like MY NEW STORE.. for a week hahaha

Steph called me on Thursday to ask me if my dad had told me i would be in a clown costume when i did my balloon animals… “ no Steph… no one told me that” hahahaha

Keith and I try to impress the neighbors with our decorations. It is summer so we went all out as you can see!

Katie came over this past week to check out the place and it was our first real visitor since being married and having our place done up right!

Working at the Cat Wash

Keith and I had the big.large.huge.massive. clean today. We were started early cleaning the bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and tons of other much needed house chores. One of them on the list was to give sadie a little bath.

She is a short hair cat,but she seriously sheds like crazy. I got the shed ender on her and WOW i am glad that hair is now in the trash and not all over our newly vacuumed floor.

Keith gave me the run down on the special techniques to keep sadie under control when she gets in the tub.

Keith told me to be aware of the Wet Rat Syndrome and to not be worried about it.

Lack of Postings!

So Keith and I got our wedding pictures Last week and i can not believe i have been so ~~Busy~~ lazy and have not put ANY up yet!

Keith and I have been running around like crazy the past few weeks trying to get the loft together and looking worthy of people coming over. I officially wrote all the thank you letters and they should be arriving to all the lovely people who gave us gifts very soon.

What else? I mean i feel like life has just been pretty normal and not much has been going on. Keith is still working on all his messages and series for the youth and i am leading worship. We are just taking time to get our life in order. Enjoying being married and being with each other more than just on Sundays!

Many may not know that Keith is an old car lover!

Him and his dad used to restore cars. Keith got a car of his own many years ago, but is still in the process of fixing it up. He has a long way to go!!!! But i wanted to give him some love because his car is SWEEEEET. Hopefully one day it will be finished and we will be in car shows or something fun. Or just ride around town so people can think we are awesome… OR we can take people from weddings like a get away car like “Sprite Man” did for us at our wedding!

this is the 1st 4th of July i have been home for in 4 years. Since the economy is bad Little ol Porterdale was the ONLY city in Newton county putting on a fireworks show!

I got my fun invitations from www.seal-n-send.com and i absolutely love them. I got the girls from my place in an assembly line and we got them folded and stamped in 30 minutes FLAT! These invites were so simple. No envelopes required! Just stamp.. fold and seal.. perfect for a girl with little time!

It took a while to get all the addresses in order and them sent out.. but i had a goal of when to send them off and i think i did pretty well!

My Aunt Donna offered to throw me a wedding shower. With her perfect gift of hospitality, she decided on a tea party for her theme. When i arrived she was in the kitchen finishing up the final touches. Everything was great. The couches were filled with "homemade" hats and of course i got one of my own for being the bride.

The other day I went to my brothers house to spend the day with my nephew since I had not seen him since he had started walking. I also wanted to get some shots of him carrying his ring pillow. I had been told by everyone that he had been taking the pillows off the sofa wherever he went and walking around with them. In some way I think he knows that he will be doing that soon and is training for it. We were worried when we first thought of him being able to walk in time for the wedding when he was born (Last March) but seeing him the other day I now have no worries.Sorry about some of the blurry pics. but you try and take pictures of a baby that just started walking. Hope you enjoy seeing the future Ring bearer in training, My nephew Wilson Lamar Davis.

I had brought over my ring to show Kevin and Stacey and had put it back into my coat jacket.While we were done taking pictures and talking Wilson somehow found the box and started walking around with it. Man what a smart kid...He is definitely a Davis.

MY VALENTINES

Keithy had to work on Valentines day, so i spent the day with my roommates mostly.

For dinner Catherine, Katuschka, and I made a delish dinner.

Yes a candle lit dinner for us beautiful girls!

Cath and I voted for Pasta… bow tie to be exact. Which is one of the most eaten foods on valentines day. ok i just made that up hahah

Any ways… It was a fun day. We just lounged around and watched movies and laughed and ate lots of bad for us food and felt good about every moment of the day.

Of course i missed Keithy, but my day was great!

Adventures at the Mill

Last Saturday My brother and two of my nephews came over to see the new place and hang out on the river. My two nephews are huge adventurers. anytime they can go out in the woods and have a "steak out" they do. I do have to admit My brother and I were when we were there age, so Saturday took us both back. We started our day by eating at "Jimbo's on the River" because you can never start an adventure without a homemade Burger and Onion Rings. The river was a little down that day but it was still flowing pretty good over the wall.We had the idea to try and see how close we could get to it. the following pics. are our steps we had to take to make it to that wall...(captions under each pic. to describe the action). The boys did find a dead spider scorpion thing and a very old petrified coconut. Maybe in a few years Wilson can join in on the fun.

We thought the day was lost until we found this Tree, that is how we made it across the part of the river that was too deep walk on

We then found a Comfortable Seat with a built in cup holder...Perfect for any outdoors man

Had a Detour of a waterfall that actually goes inside part of the building. (This is Actually to the right of the wall)

Its like I have my own Ruby Falls in my backyard. (don't worry I don't charge Admission)

We Made it to the wall, where we found a nice comfortable place to sit

And of course Sadie had to have an adventure of her own. (The ladder is proberly a ten foot ladder and she is on the second step from the top)

Flowers?

I have lots of the large stuff finished, but flowers are still on my list. I have always wanted lilies, but 1. they are a bit more expensive and 2. they have nasty pollen.. which i know can be cut out but still..

so i have been looking around at different sites for ideas and i really like tulips as well.. so here are a few fun pictures of my ideas.. i am totally open for anything that you would suggest. I am really thinking about doing Sams or costco to buy in bulk for the reception and then getting a florist shop to do the flowers for the bridesmaid and groomsman…. not sure…

Our Future Baby Davis but Hopefully Not

Kaylee and I the other day were talking about how we could get some photos done in one of those old time photo booths and post them somewhere. That is when we started talking about going to the booths that they take both of the people's pics and then out comes the picture of your baby boy or Girl (or in one our our cases "Alien". Well we found this website that you can do it online. We tried different pics but you will have to be the judge to see if we will actually have a cute kid. Just something fun to do to see what our future kids (once we are married for a few years) will look like. Lets hope that our girls will not look like the last pic. (Me getting ready to become Aunt Ethel in our recent "Aunt Ethel and Uncle Sal Variety Hour" at Church. Let the Showers Begin

(our apartment may or not be even close to the size of the awesome house above... but just to get you in the christmas mood i have posted it first haha)

Katie decided to throw me an awesome shower. This was my first wedding shower, so of course it was exciting.

Katie had been to a shower last year which gave her the inspiration for mine: Kaylee's Krazy Kristmas Shower

What they did was buy Christmas decorations for Keith and I for our Christmas NEXT YEAR. So when everything went on sale after Christmas everyone got great deals on goodies for Keith and I.

Let me tell you Keith and I got HOOKED UP!

All the girls went crazy and Keith went crazy looking at everything the next day!

Katie did an awesome job making TONS of homemade goodies even though she was dead sick!

We played two AWESOME GAMES! The first was to create a bridal dress out of toilet paper and then making a shaving creme wedding cake.

Which cake do you like best hahaha

To my joy we also played a game which wouldn't let people say a list of words. The list included words like : wedding, AWWW, Cute... It was funny because if you stick 12 girls in a room and tell them not to say AWWWWW ... man it was so funny!

Yes we did keep our decorations up from christmas until this shower.. infact 5 days after we still have them up.. what date is it hahah

Matt and i worked getting this put together and i totally killed the CVS photo system by paying just about NOTHING for my prints!

I sent about half of them out on Friday and hope to get the others out by Monday!

Keith is a Christmas loving man!

He has awesome decorations and loves to have them put up right after thanksgiving. Although I am just posting this, Keith's place has been lit up for weeks now!

We of course drove by on the bridge to make sure you could see his tree from outside.

His mom got a new tree so keith took her nice big one, but he better get used to not having a fake tree because next year we are getting a real one and i am so excited!

From outside of 1260 D i was given the task to make all the neighbors jealous.

My task was complete when the neighbor across from Keith came out and asked me if i was trying to make them look bad haha.

The tree i left to Keith. He loves his retro lights and so do I.

If this view is not convincing enough of God’s Beauty i don’t know what is. I quickly found my spot on the ledge of the second window while talking to my mom and decided that this will be my sitting spot in the afternoons.

The first thing to be moved had to be the porterdale sign we have to be representing our town haha Keith and Stephen had to debate how it would work…

while i was setting up the kitchen and all of keiths clothes.. boy had a TON of clothes! (Below is one of about 4 loads… just of the hanging clothes hahah)

I had to hurry and set up Keith’s Halloween decorations because the neighbors are trying to up us and I wasn’t going to let that happen

A blueberry muffin cake was in store for the 1st morning of moving.

Frank wasn’t ready to say goodbye, but i think he is getting used to his Riverside view!

Now who is up for a M&M wedding cake? I know everyone at PureFUN! would be drooling over this cake. HAHA

It is really fun to just type in “Wedding cakes” into google images and search around for what might be cool to have for the wedding

I was really thinking that this cake below would be something that i could do: yes a self portrait cake!

But in all seriousness there are a ton of cakes out there. I love simple ones like the one below just with ribbons around it.

But for the grooms cake Keith and I have a great Idea. With the craze that i have found for “cup-cake wedding cakes” Keith and I’s awesome idea may just work out. I will have to see what i can say but let’s just say that it will be made out of Keith and I’s favorite breakfast treat!

Last Thurday My mom, Aunt DD7, Kensie, Tiffany, Laura, Katie and Myself rushed into Davids bridal. My mom fully equipped with the camera took lots of pictures. Of course i can’t show any of myself in the dress i LOVE.. but i thought i would give you a few other fun pictures from the night!
