The GROW room…Part 3
THE PAINT!
The old room colors were just.. BLAH..
It took us two different Saturdays and about 10-15 helpers to complete everything. This was a HUGE room. Keith went through and patched everything first and then we went to town brightening up the room. No more dark drab colors! We had to bring a splash of color with Parakeet Green! We got adventurous and went up on the high lift to help get the top spots of the room. The green really lightened up the room and made it a lot more inviting!
Here are a few pictures of the transformation!

GROW Room… Part 2
Wall ART
Since the youth room is so large and the ceilings are soooo tall, we needed lots of artwork to put on the walls.
Aubrey, Deborah and I did most of the artwork. We stayed after many a sunday’s to get stuff finished up for the room.
We of course had inspiration for many things from pinterest! I even made a “grow” board to pin all our ideas to!

Another one of our big projects was making wall art out of burlap bags! First, they are a bit hard to find but we ended up finding an awesome website online and getting them for a great deal. We had some broken daycare crib parts at my work and we used them as “stuffing” they acutally worked perfect because they alreadyd had holes drilled into them and we used those to hang them right on the wall.
I also became a stapling queen. Keith got me an awesome staple gun and i only ALMOST shot myself twice! So i was happy about that.
Check out the process from start to finish:

The GROW room- part 1
It was lots of hard work, but it is awesome to see everyone's reactions when they see the new room. I hardly even remember what it used to look at now that it is so much different.
It was lots of long days and long nights but it is so great to see how it all goes together now.
Check out these old pictures from the room. Over the next few posts I will show different projects we created and then of course the final look!!

Merry Christmas from Us!
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder,
and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
Merry Christmas All!
God has blessed us so much over the past year and we have had so many changes in the Davis Household.
Just after Christmas last year, we signed on our first home in Loganville, GA. We love it and have spent the past year renovating, cleaning, painting and decorating it. It has been great to make this house a home!
We have had a few other great milestones this year! Keith finished his Seminary degree from Luther Rice Seminary and walked in May 2012. He was also ordained as a minister as well!
In May, we said goodbye to our church family of 8 years, Journey Church, as Keith accepted a full time Youth pastor position at Meadow Baptist Church in Lawrenceville. We love it there and God is doing great things with Keith’s ministry with the youth.
What else is going on!!!
Keith and I had a wonderful time this summer as we traveled with my mom to Kosova for the yearly Business & Leadership camp there. We had over 35 students and God truly blessed our time there. It was my 1st time back in 4 years and Keith’s 1st time ever!
Since the summer, the months have flown by with work and other activities.
We are so excited to be celebrating our first Christmas in our new home!

King Herod
BRING THEM TO ME!!!!
Keith was asked to play King Herod in the Children’s Musical at Meadow this year.
Here is a recap of the play:
When King Herod sends Sherlock Watson to find out why the kings from the East did not return to him, we discover, along with Sherlock, that Jesus is the King of Kings, and if we believe in Him, we answer to a higher calling than to any king on earth.
Keith did an awesome job and everytime he would come the practice the children would chant “herod… herod.. herod” it was great!
He enjoyed every second of it and had a great time. I will try to post more pictures later!
